2021 MG Extender Pickup Truck updates

The 2021 MG Extender is basically the Maxus T90's twin. Now in Thailand, this pickup truck is priced at Rs 13 to 25 lakhs.

MG Extender is a pickup truck which has got a minor update in its design and is available for the Australian as well as Thailand market. We think that the MG extender could be a good rival to it.

Here, we are going to tell you all the specifications and features of the MG Extender.

Exterior

The 2021 MG Extender will be seen with extensive use of chrome on its exteriors. The heavily chromed out front fascia with a prominent finished grille section with multiple horizontal chrome slats enclosed in an octagonal design.

The MG badge is seen on the top chrome slat and there is also a new black front bumper bar with a skid plate. The LED fog lamps in a C-shaped housing and LED tail lamps with an Extender badge grafted on the top right-hand corner of the tailgate are also a part of its exterior design changes.

It will also receive rectangular wheel arches, new 18 inch dual-tone wheels, sharp headlamps, a muscular bonnet structure and side cladding and character lines, black rear bumper with mounting loops and MG badge.

Interior

Not many changes are seen on the interiors. It continues to sport a 10-inch infotainment system with i-Smart in-car connectivity options that responds to Thai language, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, MG link smartphone app for other functions and online music streaming, a 360-degree camera, automatic wipers, automatic headlamps, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, lane departure warning, and so on.

Engine

The updated MG Extender continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder CRDi engine with a turbocharger from Garrett. It will be presented in two-wheel- and four-wheel-drive configurations and get automatic differential locking and the powertrain is mated to a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Launch

As the Toyota Hilux is expected to arrive in India, we think that the MG extender could be a good rival to it. As of now, there are no plans for this pick-up to be launched in India.
