The launch of the new XUV 400 will happen in 2021. The car will be an affordable 7 seater. It is expected to receive a good response right from the start. This vehicle fills all the gaps of the XUV 300. It could be equipped with a mild-hybrid technology while the plug-in hybrid version is also earmarked. Let's look at it's new features:
Interior
On the interior, car will be same as the XUV 500. It's styling could have influenced by Italian design house Pininfarina. There would be some sense of comfort and premium feel. The materials that will be used will be of best quality than the Scorpio. The vehicle won’t be a pure off-roader. It will be the best vehicle to tackle Mumbai potholes. The upcoming vehicle will get cloth seats as well as leather seats.
The instrument cluster will be similar to the XUV300. Some important features are dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, climate control, zone automatic climate control and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There will a be cost-cutting on the vehicle at various places. The car will probably get a lighter colored interior. This will make it roomy and spacious. XUV 400 will be like a Scorpio which looks a bit soft on the outside.
Exterior
On the exterior, it will take the grill and front fascia from the precious XUV 300. This side of the vehicle will be just extended. Currently, there is no overhang for the vehicle. This will change to some extent. The XUV 400 will get bolder rear. Mahindra will really try to make the car stand out from the rear.
The dimensions of the car will be measured as, 1,798 mm in width, 4,440 mm in length, and 1,635 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm which is meant for additional luggage space, not an extra row of seats.
Engine
Under the hood, this vehicle will be powered with a 1.5-litre GDI Motor which is same as Marazzo with direct-injection four-cylinder petrol engine. It has already been designed for a 7 seater. The car will have proper power and torque for the 7 seaters.
Price
The price of the XUV 400 will be priced right between XUV 300 and XUV 500. This price might make it confusing for customers to select between cars. The XUV 400 will be sold along with the Scorpio. This will be a more modern approach to the 7-seater car. It will be priced between Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs. Th company is trying to make its lineup tight along by introducing the XUV 400.
