Delhi police conducting drive for people not wearing seatbelt

Delhi Traffic Police conducted a special drive on Wednesday where 17 people fined for not wearing seat belts in the rear seat in cars. The drive was conducted on the Barakhambha Road near Connaught Place from 11 pm to 1 pm under the section 194 B.

Each violator was fined Rs 1,000 each. This  drive was conducted after Tata Son's former chairman Cyrus Mistry's death in a car crash due to non wearing a rear seatbelt.

Road ministry is also working on making rear seat belt alarm warnings compulsory. A constant beeping sound will alert the driver if anyone in the car is not wearing seatbelt including rear passengers.
